The word perfume derives from the Latin word “per fuman” which means “in the middle of fog”. Perfume is a fragrance whose task is to give an aroma to a body or an item. It is a mixture of different flowers, fruits, herbs, leaves, trees, natural oils, and a certain percentage of alcohol and water. With the mixture of natural oils with fragrance, their possibility of evaporation and their ability for holding the fragrance for a longer period in presence of a certain quantity is obtained Etili alcohol, meaning “PERFUME”. This ability of holding and evaporation of aroma makes the perfume to be an aroma-discharger.
Qualityofperfume
The quality of the perfume is defined by its evaporation, holding, and strength of fragrance. Aromatic components that make up the mixture of fragrance, are divided in a systematic way in several degrees that define the quality of the perfume. Degree 1 or m high, middle degree or heart, and low degree or basic part. In the first degree are oils with a greater ability of evaporation. The effect of components of this degree is low which then evaporates quickly. Here usually are used a certain group of family of flowers.

The Middle degree is a degree that defines types of perfume – character and in the meantime presents the most sensitive area of the mixture – “heart”. Components in this degree are Caryophylus, Narcissus, Fresia, Lonicera, Jasmine, Magnolia, Orchids, Rose, and Nymphaea. The third degree or the basis contains components that define the duration of fragrance and quality of the perfume. In this degree are components like Amber, balsam, benzoin, kumarin, vanilla, patchouli, cedar, evernia prunastri, santalum album…

The selection of adequate perfume is done during his testing on our bodies. Since chemical mixtures of skin differ between people, then the real fragrance of perfume could never be defined by the smelling in the skin of other people. The real fragrance is revealed only when it contacts with chemical components of our skin, so never should you conclude about a certain perfume only by smelling it from the bottle. The best way to understand the real fragrance of an aromatic mixture is when you put some drops on your skin and wait for at least 10 minutes.

During these minutes, while the alcohol evaporates, the chemical harmony is achieved between perfume and our skin and in this way emerges the real fragrance and effect of perfume. We must have in mind that at any moment we should not test more than 3 fragrances, because if you test a greater number of fragrances then our nose will lose the ability for detecting the differences between fragrances. During the selection of perfume, you should prefer the fragrance that suits your body’s smell. Don’t be tied only to one fragrance, the change in temperature and humidity during the year can affect in density and ability of evaporation of perfume.
